Horng Tair Completes Installation of HDPE Three-Layer Blown Film Machine in Togo, Supporting the Introduction of an Automated Water Sachet Production Line
In September 2026, Horng Tair completed the delivery, on-site installation, and commissioning of an HDPE three-layer blown film machine in Togo, West Africa, for a leading company in the local plastics and rubber industry. The project demonstrated Horng Tair's capabilities in blown film equipment manufacturing, system integration, and on-site technical support, while also providing valuable insight into the practical needs of the plastics processing industry in Togo.
During the installation, the engineering team exchanged ideas with Mr. Nemer, who is responsible for the plant. Mr. Nemer explained that the newly installed blown film equipment and related machinery would be used in the production of Sachet Water (known as pouch water as well), and stated that this would be the first automated water sachet production line in Togo.
The HDPE three-layer blown film machine supplied by Horng Tair serves as a key upstream stage in the process by producing the plastic film required for subsequent packaging processes. Through this project, Horng Tair's blown film technology has been applied to the local drinking water packaging market, demonstrating how plastic processing equipment can be closely connected to everyday needs and local industrial development.
Sachet Water: Connecting Blown Film Technology with Local Drinking Water Packaging Needs
Located along the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa, Togo has a growing demand for plastic processing and packaging solutions. Plastic films are used in a wide range of applications, including general packaging, food packaging, drinking water packaging, and other everyday consumer products.
Among these applications, Sachet Water is a particularly common form of drinking water packaging in many parts of West Africa.
Sachet Water is typically packaged in flexible plastic film. The plastic resin is first processed through blown film extrusion to produce the required film, which is then converted through subsequent processes into packaging bags for water filling and sealing. This packaging format is widely used in several West African markets due to its simple packaging structure, portability, and suitability for high-volume production.
For this type of application, stable film production is an important foundation for subsequent packaging processes. Consistent film quality and reliable production performance can contribute to the efficiency and stability of downstream operations.
HDPE Three-Layer Blown Film Machine: Greater Flexibility in Film Structure and Material Configuration
The machine installed in Togo is an HDPE three-layer blown film machine.
Multi-layer blown film technology allows different film layers to be configured according to the requirements of the final application. By adjusting the materials and ratios used in individual layers, manufacturers can achieve greater flexibility in film structure and material utilization.
The basic concept can be illustrated as:
Layer A / Layer B / Layer C
Depending on production requirements, each layer can be designed with different material characteristics and proportions. This provides manufacturers with greater flexibility when developing film structures for specific packaging applications.
From Equipment Manufacturing to On-Site Commissioning: The Practical Challenges of Overseas Installation
For overseas customers, purchasing a large-scale blown film machine involves much more than simply receiving the equipment. From equipment design and manufacturing to shipment, on-site assembly, mechanical and electrical system inspection, machine adjustment, trial operation, and production testing, every stage requires the equipment supplier to have comprehensive technical capabilities and overseas service experience.
Overseas equipment installation can also involve practical challenges related to cross-border communication, site conditions, and factory infrastructure. Even when installation plans have been prepared before shipment, actual conditions at the customer site may differ from the original arrangements, requiring the engineering team to make adjustments during installation.
For example, there may be cases where the equipment arrives at the site and the available factory space is temporarily insufficient to accommodate the fully assembled machine. In such situations, the engineering team must adapt the assembly sequence and installation approach to the actual site conditions, while coordinating with the customer's factory expansion plans and progressively completing equipment assembly and positioning.
These experiences test not only the equipment supplier's manufacturing capabilities, but also the engineering team's ability to assess conditions, coordinate with the customer, and respond quickly to unexpected situations. Overseas installation is therefore more than the final step of equipment delivery; it is an important part of ensuring that the equipment can be successfully installed, commissioned, and ultimately put into production.
Expanding Global Markets Through Blown Film Technology and International Service
The Togo project represents another important milestone in Horng Tair's continued expansion into international markets. By combining blown film technology with equipment integration and on-site technical support, Horng Tair continues to help customers in different regions develop plastic processing capabilities suited to their specific market requirements.
Every market has its own industrial environment, product requirements, and production practices. This requires equipment manufacturers to have not only strong technical expertise, but also the flexibility to adapt equipment and production solutions to different operating conditions.
Looking ahead, Horng Tair will continue to build on its core blown film technology while integrating equipment engineering, process expertise, and international technical support to provide customers around the world with comprehensive blown film and packaging solutions.
From Taiwan to the world, Horng Tair continues to bring blown film technology to global markets.
